Accommodations

1. The Silo

South Africa, Cape Town

The Silo Hotel is a magical hotel towering above the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex, the hotel occupies the six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. The hotel is a celebration of art, style, architecture and design. All the rooms are individually designed and decorated with colorful, eclectic pieces juxtaposing the modern, industrial architecture. Pillowed window bays are one of the key architectural features. Due to the unique architecture of the hotel, the rooms are more spacious vertically than horizontally. The Willaston Bar with stunning views over the city is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, while The Granary Café offers a more formal dining experience. The Silo Rooftop is the ideal spot for a sunset cocktail or a casual lunch. Guests can enjoy signature treatments at the spa, take afternoon tea overlooking Table Mountain, swim in the rooftop pool or enjoy a guided tour of the museum.

2. Singita Lebombo Lodge

South Africa, Kruger National Park

Singita Lebombo Lodge looks out regally across the landscape. This boldly dramatic lodge, home to loft-style suites, is situated on Singita’s private concession in the Kruger National Park. The exclusive concession is a richly diverse habitat, teeming with game, beneath endless African skies. Imaginative wood, steel and organic interiors, all encased in glass, create a stylishly contemporary feel in the suites and make the most of the astonishing eagle’s nest views. Other highlights of the lodge include a roof terrace and wine studio (a multi-level retreat which boasts a library, multi-media room, wine studio and rooftop viewing area), an interactive kitchen, an espresso bar and help-yourself deli, and an additional 25-metre lap pool. All communal areas of the lodge have been pushed out to ensure that the outside bursts in, offering elegant, calm and meditative spaces immersed in a dramatic landscape of giant euphorbia trees. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, mountain bike rides, conducted by experienced rangers and trackers, and archery.

3. Mukwa River Lodge

Zambia, Livingstone

Set along the banks of the Zambezi River, just 20 minutes from Victoria Falls, Mukwa River Lodge is an intimate, family-owned retreat designed in a classic, elegant style. The lodge offers a small collection of suites with river views, blending timeless design with modern comforts. A highlight is its strong culinary focus, with seasonal menus inspired by local ingredients—many sourced from the lodge’s own organic garden—alongside personalized service and a tranquil riverside setting.

4. Vumbura Plains

Botswana, Okavango Delta

Vumbura Plains is situated in a private concession in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. The concession has a wide variety of habitats, diverse wildlife and an enormous traversing area of over 148,000 acres. Vumbura Plains comprises two separate seven-roomed satellite camps, each with its own uniquely-designed lounge and dining area tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees. A star-gazing deck is set over the floodplain, a place to gaze upwards or simply enjoy the convivial campfire setting. Each luxurious room is raised off the ground, with indoor and outdoor shower, full ensuite bathroom and a sunken lounge with views of the floodplains. Each room also has a plunge pool and private deck. Vumbura Plains offers both land and water based game viewing activities. Morning and afternoon game drives are in open 4x4 Land Rovers. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals, while exploring the Okavango by traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) reveals the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta. Water-level dependent, boating is another idyllic form of water wildlife viewing.
