1. Hemingways Eden

Set on a four-acre forested property in the peaceful suburb of Langata, the former home has been transformed into a living museum and private gallery space that is filled with the family’s own artworks and creations, including their personal library and artefacts that have been collected over a lifetime on the continent.
Eden is made up of the main house and tonio’s studio. Both buildings are available for exclusive hire. main house: Once the private residence of Anna and her family, the main house offers an open plan drawing and dining room area, large veranda and 3 ensuite bedrooms. Tonio’s studio: Tonio’s former art studio offers a separate open plan drawing and dining room area, 2 ensuite bedrooms and 3 separate studio lofts.
Bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary forest on the outskirts of Nairobi, Eden sits in the heart of Langata and is an oasis of tranquillity. Nairobi National Park, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre are all within a short driving distance and the hotel is within easy reach of Nairobi’s most interesting restaurants, eclectic shopping experiences and artist studios.
2. Segera Retreat

Segera Retreat is a 50,000 acre wildlife rich ecosystem on the Laikipia Plateau with spectacular views of Mount Kenya. Owned by conservationist Jochen Zeitz, this eco lodge promises sustainable luxury and embraces the 4Cs - conservation, community, culture and commerce. The timber and thatch villas are built on elevated wooden platforms, surrounded by a botanical garden. Uniquely decorated with artworks by African artists, each villa has its own private deck with lounge chairs for soaking up the African sun, and swinging beds that provide the perfect spot for a midday or evening escape. An outdoor hot tub offers a tranquil and private setting. Meals are made from freshest ingredients sourced from the lodge's fruit, vegetable and herb gardens and neighboring farms. Dining is a personalized and highly creative experience, eat by the pool, in your villa, in the Wine Tower, the Paddock House or in the renovated horse stables. A wellness center, gym, salt water pool and sculpture garden completes the holistic experience. 3. Angama Mara
Kenya, Maasai Mara
The Swahili word ‘angama’, meaning ‘hanging or suspended in mid-air’, inspired the name Angama Mara. Perched on the edge of the Great Rift Valley the lodge overlooks the magnificent rolling plains of the Masai Mara. Each classical tented suite has a floor to-ceiling glass front with breathtaking views, a spacious wooden deck, personal bar, safe, en-suite bathroom, charging points, Wi-Fi, and a butler’s lobby allowing for the discreet delivery of early morning tea and coffee. The guest areas are essentially one room with glass doors, without a defined sitting room, dining room or bar and an extensive deck. The library has Wi-Fi, guest computers, and a collection of books and films on Africa. The lodge consists of two totally separate and intimate camps. The pavilion is the only communal area between the two camps. Here you will find the fitness room, an infinity pool with loungers and a safari shop with a studio leading from it, where the Maasai do beading.

Day 1. Arrive Nairobi, Kenya
Jambo na Karibu! Welcome to Nairobi, or the “place of cool waters” in the Maasai language. After a warm welcome, you’ll be driven to a stylish, art-filled boutique hotel. The women-owned and run hotel focuses on Kenyan talent and is a showcase of contemporary Kenya. (D)

Your safari takes off with a flight to Northern Laikipia. Meet your expert ranger for a game drive and start exploring the conservancy’s diverse ecosystems. You’ll be delighted by the varied wildlife that can be spotted here. Be sure to watch for the endangered Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. (BLD)

Day 4. Laikipia Conservancy
Immerse yourself in the wilderness and observe the wealth of wildlife at a leisurely pace. A walk with your Samburu guide is a wonderful way to learn about the flora, fauna, culture and history of the area. (BLD)
Visit the local Samburu village for a unique opportunity to learn directly from and about the people of Laikipia, their centuries-old traditions and ways of life. For a different perspective, join the anti-poaching unit and sniffer dogs and learn about their day-to-day training and activities.

Day 5. Laikipia Conservancy / Maasai Mara
Set off for the magical Maasai Mara, flying past Mt. Kenya, the Laikipia Escarpment and the Great Rift Valley. Embark on a game drive with your ranger. With the most diverse concentration of wildlife remaining in Africa today, the Mara is the ancestral home to the Maasai people. Enjoy dinner with and share your day’s adventures. (BLD)

Guests staying at Angama Mara are faced with many choices of how they wish to spend their day, from game drives to incredible walking safaris – as well as the exclusivity and privacy of limited access. As a nod to the romantic tale that was filmed on the site of Angama Mara, the lodge offers intimate picnics for two on the crest of the Out of Africa kopje. A Maasai naturalist escorts guests up the hill to discover an old-world private picnic scene: checked blankets, comfy cushions, canvas safari chairs, a wicker picnic basket, sparkling wine on ice, coffee in a Stanley flask, elegant picnic food and of course, that view. Observe the Mara’s cycle of life slowly unfold. Perhaps start with a dawn adventure in a hot air balloon safari over the Mara (additional cost). Don't miss Lunch in the Shamba Gardens, where the keepers welcome guests at the passion fruit arbor and are guided through the garden picking ingredients along the way before enjoying a lunch with chilled rosé.
